Garhsankar, January 31:- CPIM held a large meeting in village Bhajjal. Addressing the meeting, party district secretary and state secretariat member Comrade Gurnek Singh Bhajjal and party state committee member Comrade Darshan Singh Mattu said that on January 30, Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated by a person of communal extremist ideology. Today, we remember him and pay homage to him. On January 2, 2005, the MNREGA law was made in the name of Mahatma Gandhi. The working people got the right to work. Now the constitutional rights of work are being taken away by the Modi government at the center. It is moving towards diluting and abolishing this law.
Similarly, electricity is going to be centralized and privatized under the Electricity Bill 2025. The 29 quotas of workers' rights obtained through struggles by the trade union on the Seed Bill were converted into four quotas. A national strike was called on February 12 to get the loans of farmers and workers waived off by giving the nuclear plant to private hands, and a call was made to implement it at the Hoshiarpur district level.
