SAS Nagar, October 23- Mohali Municipal Corporation Mayor Amarjeet Singh Jeeti Sidhu, raising questions on the recently issued expanded boundary notification of Mohali Municipal Corporation, said that by tampering with the resolution of the elected representatives, the government has hurt the spirit of democracy. He said that in the recently issued boundary notification, many important areas have been kept out without any valid reason.
He said that in the resolution passed by the Municipal Corporation, several key areas (Balongi village, Balongi colony, Bar Majra village, Bar Majra colony, Green Enclave, Sectors 118 and 119, Baliali, and TDI area) were clearly included. But surprisingly, the government has completely excluded all these areas.
He said that this is deliberate political interference. He said that this decision is a sign of political bias. He said that some areas have been kept out only because they did not support the government during elections.
The Mayor said that they will not accept this decision. He announced that they will soon file their objections officially and will announce the next course of action after consulting with all councilors.
