Class IV Employees Union announces rallies and protests

Patiala, July 14, 2026:- A meeting of the district committee office-bearers of the Class IV Government Employees Union Punjab (1680) was held in Patiala. The meeting was presided over by State Vice President Sh. Jagtar Lal Samana. The meeting discussed issues such as regularizing outsourced and daily wage workers in government and semi-government departments, implementing 'equal pay for equal work', and restoring the Old Pension Scheme. State President Comrade Darshan Singh Lubana was specially present at the meeting.
It was decided in the meeting that a rally will be held in late July in front of the Civil Surgeon's office regarding the demands of Health Department employees, including Anti-Larva staff and Class IV employees. In August, all contractual and permanent Class IV employees, including scheme workers, outsourced, and daily wage workers, will conduct a vehicle (Long March) rally in Patiala Assembly constituencies 1 and 2, and warning memoranda addressed to the government will be submitted. It was also decided that employees would actively participate in joint rallies of employees and pensioners.
The meeting was attended by leaders including Deep Chand Hans, Inderpal Walia, Rajesh Kumar, Lakhvir Singh, Baljit Singh (Balli), Balbir Singh, Trilochan Maadu, Balwinder Singh, Trilochan Mandoli, Dharminder Kumar, Daya Shankar, Gurinder Guri, Prakash Singh Lubana, Satya Narayan Goni, Harbhim, Onkar Singh Daman, Modnath Sharma, Harbans Singh Verma, and Prem Chawla.
