Civil Surgeon Holds Key Meeting with Senior Medical Officers
Hoshiarpur: Civil Surgeon Dr. Mandeep Kamal conducted a monthly meeting with Senior Medical Officers and Program Officers from various health institutions across the district. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding several critical health services and programs, as well as issues related to maternal and child health. Topics discussed included the care of pregnant women, safe deliveries, immunization, the nutritional status of children, the Chief Minister's Health Scheme, the AIDS Control Program, the 100-day campaign for the TB Program, the upcoming dengue season, and other initiatives. On this occasion, clear directives were issued to all officers and staff to achieve their assigned targets in a timely manner and with complete responsibility; furthermore, an appeal was made to ensure the quality and accessibility of health services at every level.
During the meeting, the Civil Surgeon reviewed the work accomplished under various health programs over the recent period and outlined the roadmap for future activities. The functioning of the anti-drug campaign and the 'Aam Aadmi Clinics' (Common Man Clinics), as well as the 'TB-Free India Campaign' (TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan), were also reviewed. He issued instructions ensuring that teams comprising the Health Department's medical and paramedical staff remain prepared to handle any situation that may arise. Additionally, the Civil Surgeon directed all health institutions to streamline and improve their record-keeping practices.
He further directed that the benefits of the health facilities provided by the government must reach every section of society. He stated that, with the assistance of Village Level Assistants (VLAs), efforts should be made to issue the maximum possible number of cards under the Chief Minister's Health Scheme at every 'Aam Aadmi Clinic.' He emphasized the need to ensure that awareness-generating activities are conducted every Friday as part of the 'War Against Dengue' campaign. Finally, he instructed all Senior Medical Officers (SMOs) to periodically review the progress of national health programs at their respective levels.
Furthermore, he apprised everyone of the instructions and directives received from the State Headquarters. On this occasion, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. T.P. Singh, District Immunization Officer Dr. Seema Garg, District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Ranjit Singh, District TB Officer Dr. Shakti Sharma, Epidemiologist Dr. Jagdeep Singh, District Program Officer Mohammad Asif, Ms. Lakshmi from the DISHA program, District Mass Media Officer Tarsem Lal, and Deputy Mass Media Officer Ravinder Jassal were present, alongside Senior Medical Officers from various blocks.
