CIA1 Takes Strict Action Fourth Accused Arrested in Cattle Smuggling Case
Karnal, March 31: The CIA-1 team of the Karnal District Police has achieved a significant breakthrough by arresting another accused individual while taking strict action in a cattle smuggling case. This operation was conducted by the team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Rajiv Kumar, under the overall supervision of CIA-1 In-charge, Inspector Sandeep Singh.
The arrested accused has been identified as Chand, son of Dhan Singh, a resident of Village Babain, District Kurukshetra. The accused is the fourth member of the active gang involved in this case.
Providing details regarding the matter, the Investigating Officer stated that unknown smugglers used to slaughter cattle on the canal embankment within the jurisdiction of the Indri Police Station and subsequently throw their severed heads into the canal. In connection with this, Case FIR No. 109/2026 was registered at the Indri Police Station under Sections 13(1)/13(2) of the Haryana Gauvansh Sanrakshan and Gausamvardhan Act, 2015, and Section 238(B) of the BNS.
The police team had previously arrested three other accused—Azam, Nawab, and Shahzad—in this case and produced them before the Honorable Court, from where a 5-day police remand was secured. During intensive interrogation conducted while in remand, it was revealed that another associate, Chand, was also involved in this cattle smuggling network.
Acting swiftly on the basis of a confidential tip-off, the police team arrested the accused from Village Babain. Preliminary interrogation has revealed that the accused used to collect cattle from surrounding areas and supply them to his accomplices.
