Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini flags off 312 ERVs

Chandigarh, June 1:- Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini on Monday flagged off 312 Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs) for Haryana Police at a program organized at Laser Valley Park in Gurugram. These vehicles include 310 motorcycles and 2 Honda Elevate vehicles, which have been made available by Honda India Foundation under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at a cost of about Rs 5 crore. The Chief Minister said that this initiative will play a vital role in further strengthening public safety in the state as well as providing quick assistance to the people in emergency situations.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously taking steps to make the police system modern and more effective. The reach of the police will increase through the new ERVs and people will be able to get assistance faster than before in times of crisis. He said that a police system equipped with technology and resources strengthens the confidence of the citizens in security.
The Chief Minister, while praising the work of the Haryana Police, said that the average response time of the police in the country is about 18 minutes, while the Haryana Police has reduced it to just 7 minutes and 3 seconds. This achievement is the result of the commitment, better management and modern methodology of the police department. He said that providing timely assistance to the public is the true form of good governance.
He said that 60 motorcycles and one Honda Elevate vehicle have been made available to Gurugram, 40 motorcycles and one Honda Elevate vehicle to Faridabad. Apart from this, 210 motorcycles have been provided to other districts of the state. These vehicles will be deployed in various sensitive and prominent areas so that police assistance can be available in the shortest possible time if required.
The Chief Minister, while appealing to the people of the state to follow traffic rules, said that awareness and responsibility towards road safety also play an important role in building a safe society. He said that with the joint efforts of the government, administration and the private sector, public welfare works get a new momentum and this initiative is also an example of the same thinking.
Director General of Police Ajay Singhal said that the inclusion of new ERVs will further strengthen the emergency response capacity of Haryana Police. He said that these vehicles will be able to reach the scene of the incident quickly on any information, which will make it even easier to provide timely assistance to the people.
Commissioner of Police Shivas Kaviraj said that these vehicles equipped with modern resources will make policing more effective. He said that the motorcycle-based ERVs will play an important role in emergency situations by reaching congested areas and narrow streets quickly and will prove helpful in providing assistance to the citizens quickly.
On this occasion, Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, Pataudi MLA Bimla Devi, Gurugram MLA Mukesh Sharma, HMSI Senior Director and Honda India Foundation Trustee Vinay Dhingra, HMSI Director Sachimi Takata, HMSI Director and CFO Toyohiro Haba and Honda India Foundation Operating Officer Rajiv Taneja along with senior officers of the police department were present.
