Chief Minister Naib Singh Sainis big relief to farmers
Chandigarh, November 4 - Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini announced a special scheme to provide relief to the farmers affected by the heavy rains and floods in the state during the monsoon of the year 2025. The payment of electricity bills of all agricultural tubewell consumers of the state for the period July 2025 to December 2025 has been postponed for six months.
A spokesperson of the Energy Department while giving information said that the electricity bills issued in July, 2025 will be payable in January, 2026. Similarly, the electricity bills of August 2025 will be payable in February, 2026 and the bills of December, 2025 in June, 2026. This decision will benefit about 7.10 lakh agricultural consumers of the state.
He said that the state government has also clarified that no late payment surcharge will be levied by UHBVN and DHBVN from any agricultural tubewell consumer during this period and power supply will continue as usual. In this context, the financial burden on the power corporations will be paid by the Haryana government.
This decision was taken with the aim of providing immediate financial relief to the farmers affected by heavy rains and floods, so that the farmers can resume their agricultural activities.
