Punjab should have 60-40 participation in Chandigarh
In Chandigarh, 60 officers are from Punjab and 40 from Haryana. This should be maintained. Many times UT officers are being deployed. This should also be stopped. Ever since Punjab was formed, the GM of FCI has been from Punjab. This time the GM has been deployed from UT cadre. Opposition to this has also been expressed. He will give a panel for this and has assured to consider it.
Also opposed the Seed Act
Bhagwant Singh Mann said that he had requested the Home Minister not to bring the Seed Act in Parliament, as it will harm Punjab. He expressed his opposition to it because the farmers of Punjab cultivate some of their crops and keep some for seed. If the company says take the seeds from us, it is not right. That is why we have opposed it.
SYL issue with the Home Minister
The SYL case is under hearing in the Supreme Court and we have informed him that we do not have water to give. I have asked him to sit down and resolve this issue, or I have appealed to him to close this issue as well.
