Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announces launch of Meri Rasoi Scheme in Punjab

Chandigarh:- Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has made an important announcement under the ‘Meri Rasoi’ scheme. He said that the state government will now prepare special food kits for blue card holder families. About 40 lakh families will get benefit from this scheme.
Talking to the media, the Chief Minister said that the government is improving the schemes keeping in mind the needs of the people. Sometimes such needs come to the fore, which are not clear at the time of election manifesto. This decision has been taken keeping in mind these needs.
Till now, only wheat was provided to the beneficiaries, but under the new system, along with wheat, other essential food items will also be provided. The food kit prepared by the government will include the following items:
2 kg of chickpeas
2 kg of sugar
1 kg of iodized salt
200 grams of turmeric powder
1 liter of mustard oil
The government will provide three months of supplies
This facility will be available to those families who have blue ration cards. The government says that with this step, essential kitchen supplies will be available to the needy families at once and they will get additional relief. CM Bhagwant Mann said that the government will provide three months of supplies in advance, so that the people do not face any trouble.
Special care will be taken in this regard. Markfed will prepare these kits for the distribution system and its quality will also be thoroughly checked.
