Checking of school vehicles under Safe School Vehicle Policy in Balachore

Balachore- Under the orders of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Ankurjit Singh, school vehicles were checked as per the Safe School Vehicle Policy. During which challans were issued to 9 school buses. Under the leadership of RTO Inderpal Singh, a team including District Program Officer Jagroop Singh and District Child Protection Officer Kanchan Arora checked school buses in Balachore block and the bus drivers were made aware of the conditions of the Safe School Vehicle Policy.
During this campaign, documents of a total of 13 school buses of about 7 schools were checked and challans were also issued to 9 school buses violating the conditions of the Safe School Vehicle Policy. On this occasion, the team made it clear to the drivers of school vehicles that appropriate legal action will be taken against vehicles that do not fulfill the conditions of the Safe School Vehicle Policy.
It is worth mentioning that the District Child Protection Office is periodically informing the school principals and drivers of school vehicles about the Safe School Vehicle Policy such as CCTV cameras, iron grilles on windows, first aid boxes, lady conductors, bus drivers wearing school uniforms, wearing seat belts, not seating more than the capacity of the school bus, etc.
Apart from this, the drivers of school buses should also have complete vehicle documents so that they do not have to face any kind of problem. Only through good safety of children can their good future be expected. The Transport Department has also appealed to the general public through Mr. Inderpal Singh RTU to inspect the school buses before sending their children in school buses.
So that they can ensure the safety of their children. Along with this, he warned the school bus drivers that no leniency will be shown in stopping the buses or issuing challans for violating the Safe School Vehicle Policy.
