Checking by Anti Begging Task Force team one child found begging
Sangrur, 17 August- As per instructions of Deputy Commissioner Sangrur Mrs. Poonamdeep Kaur, under leadership of District Programme Officer Shri Pradeep Gill and District Child Protection Officer Mrs. Navneet Kaur Toor, campaign was run under Project Jeevanjot 2.0 with aim to ensure safety of children and to completely stop child begging with cooperation of Health Department, Education Department and Police Department by team of Anti Begging Task Force formed at district level regarding eradication of child beggary.
Checking campaign was run by Task Force Team (DTF) formed at district level with objective to ensure safety of children in Sangrur and to stop child begging done by children. During this campaign, situation was assessed by sudden checking at various places in city.
On this occasion, Anti Begging Task Force team included Shri Gurjinder Singh - (Education Department) ASI Harish Kumar - (Police Department) Shri Gagandeep Garg - (District Child Protection Office Sangrur) Shri Rupinder Singh (District Child Protection Office Sangrur) Shri Amandeep Singh (District Child Protection Office Sangrur) and Mrs. Manpreet Kaur (Childline) etc.
During checking, team visited various places and conducted checking. During checking, one child was found begging from Qila Market. While assessing situation of area, entire team also made people aware about law regarding child beggary and appealed to general public that if in future any child is seen begging anywhere then immediately its information should be given to toll free number 1098 of Childline or concerned department.
