Chandigarh Punjabi Manch held a meeting in Dhanas village

Chandigarh, October 24 – The Chandigarh Punjabi Manch held a meeting in Dhanas village to prepare for the November 1 protest march against the UT Chandigarh administration, which was attended by a large number of Punjabi sympathizers.
Addressing the meeting, Manch President Sukhjit Singh Hallomajra, General Secretary Comrade Devi Dayal Sharma, Secretary Gurpreet Singh Somal, Baba Sadhu Singh Sarangpur, Baba Gurdayal Singh Khudda Alisher, Sharanjit Singh Baidwan Raipur Kalan, Balkar Sidhu, Joga Singh Tarksheel Society, and others stated that a long struggle has been underway to implement Punjabi, the mother tongue of the region, as the primary and administrative language in Chandigarh, but the administration is not relenting. Repeated memorandums of demands have been submitted to administrators and officials who have come and gone, but despite this, other languages ??continue to be prioritized.
He stated that the forum is not against any other language and respects every language, but wants Punjabi, the mother tongue of the region, to be respected. The struggle for this will continue.
He appealed to the people of Dhanas village and surrounding villages to participate in a protest march against the Chandigarh administration on November 1st, from Makhan Shah Lubana Bhawan in Sector 30 to Gurudwara Sahib in Sector 22. As many people as possible should participate in the protest march.
Residents of Dhanas village who attended the meeting included Dr. Parminder Singh Sandhu, Amninder Singh, Harpreet Singh, Surjeet Singh, Sohan Singh, Karam Singh, Dalwinder Singh, Maan Singh, Dilbag Singh, villagers, and young children, including Jind Kaur Sandhu, enthusiastically assured the forum officials that a large number of people would participate in the protest march and become part of the struggle for respect for the mother tongue.
