Chandigarh:- A lawyer practicing in the Punjab and Haryana High Court in New Chandigarh was shot at. The attack took place on Kurali Bypass. However, Gagandeep Jammu - who was the former secretary of the High Court Bar Association - narrowly escaped in the incident. Gagandeep is the son of Balwinder Jammu, a veteran journalist from Chandigarh. After the attack, pictures have surfaced showing bullet marks on his car.
The police immediately started investigating the incident. CCTV footage from the surrounding areas is being examined. According to the police, the attackers fired three bullets; spent shells have been recovered from the crime scene. Meanwhile, the High Court Bar Association has expressed its anger over the attack. They have asserted that this is an attack on the entire legal fraternity and have demanded that the police arrest the culprits immediately.
