Chairman of Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission visited various places in Garhshankar
Garhshankar- Chairman of Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission Jasvir Singh Garhi today visited various areas of Garhshankar constituency and reviewed the issues related to the Scheduled Castes and government schemes at the ground level. On this occasion, he met the Deputy Speaker and discussed in detail the issues related to the development, education, employment and social justice of the Scheduled Castes in the constituency.
Jasvir Singh Garhi gave detailed information about the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme to the students at the National Public School located in village Garhi Matto and motivated them to apply online on time and keep all the documents complete.
Responding to questions from journalists, Mr. Garhi said that in a meeting recently organized by the Social Justice Department, it was clarified that all the outstanding payments of Post Matric Scholarship after the years 2021-22 and 2022 have been settled by the Punjab Government, which has given relief to thousands of students.
Chairman Jasvir Singh Garhi said that due to the continuous efforts of the Commission, SP level nodal officers have been appointed in all the districts of Punjab for the speedy disposal of cases registered under the SC/ST Act. While at the state level, the responsibility has been entrusted to a DIG level officer. He said that the objective of the Commission is to protect the rights of the Scheduled Caste community and provide them with timely justice. He said that the Commission has disposed of more than 3 thousand files in the last 7 months.
After this, Jasvir Singh Garhi held a meeting with the Sarpanches and local representatives in village Bihra and reviewed the government facilities being provided to the people of the Scheduled Caste category. He directed the village panchayats to spread the information about the schemes related to social justice to maximum people and play a leading role in connecting the eligible beneficiaries.
Chairman Jasvir Singh Garhi attended the Gurmat Samagam organized by Sant Baba Charanjit Singh Ji at Gurdwara Shaheedan located in village Jassowal regarding the 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and asked the Sangat to take inspiration from the life and sacrifice of Guru Sahib. After this, he met 108 Sant Satnam Das Ji at Dera Sant Raju Das Ji located in village Gajjar Mehdud and appealed to the people for social harmony and unity.
