Central government categorically refutes rumors of lockdown in India
New Delhi:- The Central government on Friday categorically refuted rumors of lockdown in India, saying that no such proposal is under consideration before the government.
Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri said, 'The rumors of lockdown are false. No such proposal is being considered. The global situation is constantly changing. We are closely monitoring the developments related to energy, supply chain and essential commodities. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, all necessary steps are being taken to ensure continuous availability of oil, energy and other important supplies to our citizens.'
Puri said that we are fully prepared to deal with the emerging challenges. India has kept itself strong in the face of global uncertainties. We will continue to work in a timely, proactive and coordinated manner. The rumors of lockdown in India are completely false.
He clarified that no such proposal is under consideration before the Government of India. In such times, it is important that we remain calm, responsible and united. Spreading rumours in such a situation is irresponsible and harmful.
