Nawanshahr: Deputy Commissioner Gulpreet Singh Aulakh informed that the first phase of Census-2027 will be conducted in the district from May 15 to June 13, 2026. During this period, enumerators will visit households to record family details. The Deputy Commissioner stated that this time, the government has also provided the facility of self-enumeration to citizens.
 People can log in to the online portal https://se.census.gov.in using their mobile number linked with Aadhaar before May 15 to fill in their family information themselves. For households that complete self-enumeration, enumerators will visit only for verification, which will save both time and effort.
He emphasized that census data forms the basis for government policies, development plans, and the allocation of funds. Therefore, it is essential for every citizen to provide accurate, complete, and timely information. This information will be kept confidential and used solely for statistical analysis. The Deputy Commissioner further mentioned that trained enumerators and supervisors have already been deployed in the district, with separate teams formed for urban and rural areas. 
He appealed to the district residents, panchayats, and organizations to participate actively in the census campaign and cooperate with the government staff to ensure 100 percent enumeration.
