CCTV Project Inaugurated at Kiran Cinema Market Sector22 Chandigarh
Chandigarh, March 13, 2026:- A CCTV surveillance project set up by Kiran Cinema Market Association, located in Sector-22, Chandigarh, through market funds, was inaugurated by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Chandigarh Police, Shri Pushpendra Kumar (IPS). DSP (Prisons) Shri Mukesh Kumar and SI Sudesh Kumar, in-charge of Police Post-22, were also present on the occasion.
During the event, the IGP interacted with the President of the Market Association, Shri Praveen Duggal; Chairman, Shri Radhe Shyam; Area Councilor, Shri Damanpreet Singh; and other market office bearers.
Shri Praveen Duggal informed that this initiative of installing CCTV cameras was started after the advice of the Home Secretary, Chandigarh, Shri Mandeep Singh Brar. Acting on his guidance, the Market Association utilized the market funds to strengthen the security arrangements within the market complex.
He further informed that the project was discussed with the Commissioner of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, Shri Amit Kumar (IAS); Special Commissioner, Shri Pradeep Kumar (IAS); and Joint Commissioner, Shri Himanshu Gupta – all of whom extended their full support to the initiative.
IGP Pushpendra Kumar appreciated the effort, noting that the project has been implemented under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model – a first of its kind initiative in Chandigarh.
All the office bearers of the market were present on the occasion. In addition, the President of Sector-22-A Market Association, Shri Ajay Joshi, was also present with his team and expressed his appreciation for the project.
