Therefore, people have been purchasing Verka products blindly to avoid adulteration.
He said that it is a matter of great concern that during the tenure of the government that came to bring change in Punjab, Verka has started facing decline. Earlier, complaints had surfaced regarding the supply of substandard panjiri to government institutions, which played with the health of children and pregnant women. Before that issue could settle, the Ministry of Defence found serious deficiencies in dairy products supplied to the army, which are harmful to health. Not only has the purchase of Verka products been stopped, but there has also been a demand to return them.
Raising such questions about an institution trusted by the government, on which many farmers, dairy workers, and laborers depend, has created a serious situation. He said that such tampering with Verka is either happening under a conspiracy or due to corruption, and it is extremely necessary to conduct a high-level inquiry as soon as possible so that Verka’s reputation for high quality can be fully restored and farmers and dairy workers can be protected from losses.
