Cancer Awareness Program at Pandit Chiranjilal Sharma Government College

Karnal, February 3:- A cancer awareness program was organized at Pandit Chiranjilal Sharma Government College here on the occasion of World Cancer Day, through the joint efforts of both units of the National Service Scheme and the college's Women's Cell.
On this occasion, Chief Guest Dr. Hari Krishna Rathi and Special Guest Dr. Vikas Nehra provided detailed information on the causes, symptoms, early detection, and preventive measures of serious diseases such as breast cancer and cervical cancer through a visual presentation. Dr. Vikas Nehra emphasized the importance of early detection and explained the method of self-examination at home to women in simple and clear terms. He explained that if the disease is identified in its early stages, treatment becomes easier and the chances of survival increase. He appealed to everyone not to ignore any unusual symptoms.
Dr. Hari Krishna Rathi explained in detail the usefulness of the HPV vaccine for cervical cancer and dispelled the misconceptions prevalent in society regarding the vaccine. He clarified that this vaccine is safe and proves helpful in protecting women from this serious disease in the future. Both doctors also highlighted the importance of awareness, correct information, and timely check-ups.
Principal Dr. Rekha Tyagi also praised the guest doctors, the Women's Cell, and the National Service Scheme team, saying that such joint awareness programs play a significant role in making society more health-conscious.
National Service Scheme Program Officers Dr. Rajesh Ranga and Dr. Karamjit Kaur, Dr. Sarita Arya, Dr. Mona Batra, Dr. Kiran Dalal, Dr. Rashmi Tuli, Dr. Nitika Arora, Dr. Vijay Lakshmi, and Dr. Charan Grover were also present on this occasion.
