Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to visit India on 26 meet Modi
Ottawa/New Delhi:- Canada's newly elected Prime Minister Mark Carney will visit India, Australia and Japan from February 26 to March 7. According to an official statement issued by Carney's office, the main objective of the visit is to strengthen bilateral relations in the trade, energy, technology and defence sectors. This will be Carney's first visit to India after assuming office after Justin Trudeau.
Prime Minister Carney will begin his India visit from Mumbai, after which he will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. The statement said that the two leaders will discuss important agreements in areas such as trade, intelligence, culture and defence to take India-Canada relations to new heights.
Carney will also meet Indian business leaders to create new investment opportunities in Canada. "In times of uncertainty, Canada is focusing on diversifying its trade and attracting new investment. We are forging new partnerships abroad for the prosperity and security of our country," Carney said.
