Cabinet Minister Dr Ravjot Singh Launches Development Works in Village Kattowal

Hoshiarpur: Punjab's Minister for Jails and NRI Affairs, Dr. Ravjot Singh, inaugurated a newly constructed sports ground in the nearby village of Kattowal. Additionally, he dedicated a new solar-powered lift irrigation project—implemented by the Department of Soil and Water Conservation—to the public.
Speaking on the occasion, Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh stated that, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government is making continuous efforts to ensure the holistic development of villages and to empower farmers. He noted that the sports ground established in the village would provide the youth with opportunities to engage in sports and advance their careers in the athletic field.
Dr. Ravjot Singh affirmed that the Punjab government remains fully committed to the comprehensive development of villages and the welfare of farmers. He added that, under the Chief Minister's leadership, the mission to equip every village in Punjab with modern amenities is steadily progressing.
The Cabinet Minister highlighted that this lift irrigation project, constructed at a cost of approximately ?12 lakh, would prove to be a significant boon for the village's farmers. He explained that this solar-based initiative would liberate farmers from the burden of power cuts during irrigation and, by utilizing free energy, would also help reduce their farming expenses.
He further stated that the Punjab government is extending modern technologies down to the village level to make agriculture more robust and profitable, thereby enabling farmers to become economically stronger. He emphasized that the conservation of water and electricity is the paramount need of the hour, and projects such as this solar initiative are setting a precedent for the future. This project, he noted, would not only benefit agriculture but also contribute significantly to environmental conservation.
Appreciating the efforts of the village Sarpanch, Michael Kumar Bhatti; Panches Sarabjit Bhatti and Balwinder Kaur; and other Panchayat members, Dr. Ravjot Singh remarked that the development of villages is possible only through the active cooperation of the people. He assured the villagers that their other demands would also be addressed on a priority basis, and that every village within the constituency would be given a new identity through development.
