Karnal, January 28: As per the orders of SDM Karnal Pradeep Kumar, a special team formed to check the safety standards of school buses inspected various schools of the city on Wednesday. During the checking, the team thoroughly examined the documents, fitness certificates, first aid kits and fire fighting equipment of various school buses. 
During the inspection, safety rules and technical deficiencies were found ignored in many buses. Online challans worth Rs 43,000 were issued on the spot for buses violating rules.
SDM Pradeep Kumar said that the main objective of this campaign is to ensure strict adherence to the rules of safe school vehicle policy. There will be no compromise of any kind with the safety of children. He has instructed school managers to ensure that all buses meet the standards of the transport department. He said that this campaign will continue in future also.
