BSF Jawans Become Guardians of Water Along the Borders Khanna
Hoshiarpur: Former MP Avinash Rai, Chairman of the Shri Prakash Rai Khanna and Smt. Kaushalya Devi Khanna Memorial Trust, organized a special program on the subject of water conservation at the BSF Camp Kharkan. During the event, Mr. Khanna raised awareness among the security personnel undergoing training at the camp regarding water conservation and administered a pledge to them to save water.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Khanna stated that while the personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) undoubtedly serve as the guardians of the nation's borders, if they were to make it their duty—alongside their regular service—to conserve water, nature's invaluable gift, the entire world could be safeguarded from the potential threats posed by water scarcity. Mr. Khanna added that by taking the initiative in this regard, the BSF personnel could send a powerful message to all three branches of the country's armed forces, encouraging them to also adopt water conservation as a fundamental duty. Mr. Khanna further remarked that history bears witness to the fact that global movements have invariably originated in India.
Mr. Khanna emphasized that if the personnel of India's armed forces were to embrace water conservation as a duty alongside their military service, it would send a meaningful message regarding water conservation across the entire world. He announced that, on behalf of the Trust, an essay writing competition on this subject would soon be organized to assess the personnel's understanding of water conservation; the winners of this competition would be honored with certificates and awarded prizes. Mr. Khanna concluded by stating that the Trust's primary objective is the conservation of water—nature's precious gift—and the protection of the environment.
