Brother Turns Killer Brutally Murdered Sibling with a Hammer Arrested After 4 Months
Karnal, March 20: Under the leadership of Inspector Inder Singh, Station House Officer (SHO) of the Gharaunda Police Station (Karnal District Police), a police team has achieved a significant breakthrough by arresting an accused individual in a murder case. This operation was executed based on credible intelligence, under the supervision of Sub-Inspector Manjit Singh.
The arrested accused has been identified as Manoj Hansda, son of Ram Hansda, a resident of village Khudna Rupaspur Barkhal, District Katihar (Bihar).
Providing details regarding the investigation, the Investigating Officer stated that the accused, Manoj Hansda, had arrived in September 2025 to work as a laborer alongside his elder brother, Santosh Hansda, at the Shiv Shakti Rice Mill located in village Barsat. Both brothers resided in the same room.
On November 25, 2025, a dispute erupted between the two brothers over the issue of returning home. The argument escalated to such an extent that, during the night, the accused repeatedly struck his brother, Santosh Hansda, on the head with a hammer kept in the room, resulting in his death on the spot.
After committing the crime, the accused fled the scene. In connection with this incident, a case was registered at the Gharaunda Police Station under FIR No. 714/2025, invoking various relevant sections of the law. Acting swiftly, the police team apprehended the accused and produced him before the Honorable Court today, from where he has been remanded to police custody for one day. During the remand period, the accused will undergo intensive interrogation to uncover further facts pertinent to the case. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
