Nawanshahr:- The drug free campaign was launched by Brahma Kumari Manjit Didi, head of the Nawanshahr branch of Prajapita Brahma Kumari Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya, and her associates, Khushi and Bhavana, by lighting a lamp and releasing a poster for the campaign at Brahma Kumari Kendra Nawanshahr. Satnam Singh Jalwaha, Chairman, Improvement Trust of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, was the chief guest. Media Incharge Kuljit Singh, Social Worker Dr. J.D. Verma, Poonam Manik, BJP Halka Incharge Nawanshahr, and Nand Kishore District Secretary, BJP were also present as special guests.
Chief Guest Satnam Singh Jalwaha, while praising the Drug Free India campaign launched by Brahma Kumari Ashram, said that the entire country is in dire need of this campaign. We should save our youth from this evil.
He further said that the Punjab government is also committed to drug de-addiction. He will provide all possible support to the drug-free campaign being run by Brahma Kumari Ashram. On this occasion, Manjit Didi, in-charge of Brahma Kumari Ashram, Nawanshahr branch, said that this campaign was launched in Nawanshahr today as part of the Drug-Free India campaign launched by Brahma Kumari Ashram in collaboration with the Ministry of the Government of India across India. Bhavana Didi took the pledge to remain drug-free.
This month, Brahma Kumari Ashram, Nawanshahr will visit various schools, colleges and other places to motivate the youth to give up drugs, as well as motivate the youth of other schools to avoid them. He further said that Brahma Kumari Ashram has set a target of 100 million youth across India taking this pledge. On this occasion, Rekha, Poonam Manik, Dr. J.D. Verma and Director of Red Cross Drug De-Addiction Center Chaman Singh also addressed.
At the end of the program, social worker Ratan Kumar Jain thanked everyone. Social worker Varinder played the role of stage manager well. On this occasion, Rano Chopra, Councilor Varinder Chopra, Bahadur Chand, Inderpal Dhall, Poonam Dhall, Sunil Dhall, Sangeeta Dhall, Seema, Savita Jain, Brijmohan from Banga, Sunita and dignitaries of the area were present.
