Karnal, June 02: A case involving the rape and intimidation of a 15-year-old minor girl has come to light in a village within the jurisdiction of the Butana Police Station. Acting on a complaint filed by the victim's family, the police have registered a case against the accused youth and have initiated an investigation.
In his complaint to the police, the victim's father stated that his daughter had previously been residing at her paternal aunt's home in the Shahabad area of ??Kurukshetra district to pursue her studies. During this period, a young man from a neighboring village began stalking her. The family alleges that, distressed by the youth's persistent harassment, the girl was forced to abandon her studies and return to her home village; however, the accused continued to stalk her even after her return.
According to the complaint, on the night of May 30, the accused youth broke into the house and attempted to sexually assault the girl once again. Family members woke up upon hearing noises inside the house, prompting the accused to flee the scene immediately. Following the incident, the girl confided in her family members, revealing that the accused had previously raped her on an earlier occasion.
The family further alleges that the very next day, the accused returned to their home and threatened to forcibly abduct the girl. The victim's father informed the police that his family faces a grave threat to their lives, property, and—most importantly—his daughter's safety at the hands of the accused. Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case under various relevant sections of the law and have commenced their investigation.
