Hoshiarpur:- As part of the series of awareness camps being organized by the Punjab Social Security and Women and Child Development Department under the ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ scheme on education, rights and health care, a block level camp was organized at the local Gurdwara Sri Singh Sabha, Bassi Daulat Khan, Block Hoshiarpur-2. In which more than 500 women participated.
Giving information about this camp organized under the leadership of District Program Officer Gagandeep Singh, Child Development Project Officer Manpreet Singh said that the Health Department conducted free health check-up of about 100 women. He said that the District Employment and Business Bureau also organized employment camps by 6 different companies to provide employment to women and girls, through which 120 women and girls were registered.
He said that big companies like Vardhman, GNA Excels, GNA Gears, SN Food Industries, Maruti Suzuki, SV Woods, organized camps in the employment camp. Apart from this, Child Development Project Officer Hoshiarpur-1 and supervisors also participated in the camp.
He appealed that the benefit of various welfare schemes being run by the Social Security and Women and Child Development Department of the Punjab Government for the development of women and children should be taken.
