Guwahati:- Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the second day of his Assam visit, on Sunday, addressed a rally in Nagaon district after laying the foundation stone of the Rs 6,957 crore Kaziranga Elevated Corridor and flagging off two Amrit Bharat trains. He said the Kaziranga Corridor will help provide safe passage to wildlife during floods.
Modi asserted that the BJP government's efforts ensured that no rhinoceros is killed due to poaching in Kaziranga National Park by 2025. PM Modi said that the Congress has lost the trust of the people because it gives a 'message of negative politics' and now the 'first choice' of voters in the country is the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi accused the Congress of handing over Assam's land to intruders for the sake of votes during its rule in the northeastern state. Addressing a rally here, Modi said that during the decades of Congress rule in Assam, infiltration continued to increase and illegal immigrants occupied forests, animal crossings and traditional institutions.
He said that the BJP government is protecting Assam's identity and culture by evicting the intruders who occupied the land. The Prime Minister said that the Congress has lost the trust of the people due to 'negative politics' and now the BJP has become the 'first choice' of the country's voters.
After laying the foundation stone of the Rs 6,957 crore Kaziranga Elevated Corridor in Nagaon district and flagging off two Amrit Bharat trains, Modi said that this corridor will provide safe passage to wildlife during floods. He claimed that due to the efforts of the BJP government, not a single rhino was killed due to poaching in Kaziranga National Park by 2025. The Prime Minister asserted that the development of Assam is opening up opportunities for the entire North-East and the 'Act East Policy' will take the region to new heights. Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the construction of the elevated corridor over Kaziranga is a historic step towards wildlife conservation and strengthening connectivity.
