Big gift by Cabinet Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal to villages of Lehragaga constituency
Lehragaga/Sangrur, 4 September:- The Punjab Government is giving special priority to strengthening the basic infrastructure of villages in the state and providing better facilities to the people. In this series, foundation stones of three bridges to be constructed over drains at a cost of about Rs 2 crore 55 lakh 86 thousand in various villages of Lehragaga sub-division were laid by Cabinet Minister of Water Resources Department Barinder Kumar Goyal.
With the construction of these bridges, people of concerned villages and surrounding areas will get better transport facility and will get relief from difficulties faced during daily commuting. Along with this, it will also help in further streamlining the performance and maintenance of drains structure.
In these development works, bridge construction at RD 28100 of Lehra Main Drain at village Bakhora Kalan will be done at a cost of about Rs 93 lakh 39 thousand. Similarly, about Rs 66 lakh 13 thousand will be spent for construction of bridge at RD 7900 of L-5 Drain at Ramgarh Sandhwan. Apart from this, bridge construction at RD 17600 of Lehra Link Drain at village Kotra Lehal will be done at a cost of about Rs 96 lakh 34 thousand.
On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal said that the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann is fully committed to all-round development of villages and providing better basic facilities to the people. He said that development works are being implemented on priority basis keeping in mind the needs of people by the government.
He said that construction of bridges over drains will provide relief to people of these areas from difficulties being faced in transportation and movement between villages will become more smooth. He said that with construction of these bridges, farmers including common people will also get facility in commuting for their daily work and agriculture-related activities.
The Cabinet Minister instructed the concerned officials that all development works should be completed within stipulated time using standard construction material, so that people can get benefit of these at the earliest.
He said that with construction of these three bridges, people of Bakhora Kalan, Ramgarh Sandhwan, Kotra Lehal and surrounding villages will get direct benefit and basic infrastructure of the area will get further strengthened.
