Muktsar/Bathinda:- After investigating a drug smuggling case, Muktsar Police today claimed to have sealed an illegal pharmaceutical manufacturing unit running on Mansa Road in Bathinda, as a result of which about 3.5 lakh drug pills have been seized, which are used by drug addicts.
Muktsar SSP Abhimanyu Rana said that the investigation began with a case registered under the NDPS Act at Killianwali police station on November 26 last year, in which two brothers Manish Kumar and Sahil Kumar of Mandi Killianwali were arrested with 20 Etizolam tablets, 80 Pregabalin capsules and drug money worth Rs 7.26 lakh.
During interrogation, the links of his brother Krishna Kumar and another associate Vansh Kawatra, who owns a medical store in Mandi Dabwali, Haryana, were revealed, who were later arrested on January 4.
The next day, another consignment of 30,000 Tapentadol tablets was seized. The officials traced the supply chain and reached a pharmaceutical manufacturing unit in Bathinda. During the raid, a large quantity of raw materials and evidence of unauthorized and illegal manufacturing of scheduled drugs used by addicts were recovered.
