Bangladesh Cricket in turmoil BCB director resigns
Dhaka: The Bangladesh cricket team's official exit from the T20 World Cup has thrown the country's cricket administration into turmoil. A senior Bangladesh Cricket Board official resigned from his post just hours after the International Cricket Council's decision. BCB director and chairman of the Sports Development Committee Ishtiaq Sadiq announced his resignation on January 24. The decision came after the ICC officially confirmed the inclusion of Scotland in the T20 World Cup instead of Bangladesh.
The ICC announced its decision to exclude Bangladesh from the tournament and include Scotland on January 24. According to reports, due to the ongoing tension between India and Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Cricket Board was not ready to play its matches in the upcoming T20 World Cup in India.
Despite repeated persuasions from the ICC, Bangladesh remained steadfast in their stance, leading to the ICC taking strict action and expelling them from the tournament. However, Ishtiaq Sadiq denied linking his resignation to the controversy and said it was a decision taken due to personal reasons.
