Ban on public display of weapons by District Magistrate

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, 24 August:- In order to maintain peace and law and order in the district, District Magistrate Mrs. Komal Mittal, exercising the powers vested under Chapter 11 (under Section 163) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (46 of 2023), has imposed a complete ban on the public display of weapons in District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar. Along with this, there will also be a complete ban on songs glorifying weapons or violence. Apart from this, carrying and displaying weapons in public gatherings, religious places, wedding parties or other functions will be completely prohibited and there will also be a ban on delivering hate speech against any community.
The District Magistrate said that if any person, general or specific, is found violating these orders, legal action as warranted will be initiated against them.
These orders will remain in force from 19.08.2026 to 18.10.2026.
