Bathinda/Maur Mandi, May 14: District Magistrate Mr. Rajesh Dhiman, IAS, exercising the powers vested under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, has imposed a ban on carrying all types of weapons in the Municipal Corporation Bathinda and the Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats under District Bathinda, where elections are scheduled for May 26, 2026.
According to the orders issued by the District Magistrate, this restriction has been imposed to maintain law and order. Under these orders, the ban will be effective only in those areas where elections for Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils, and Nagar Panchayats are to be held. These orders will remain in force until June 1, 2026.
