Bal Preet Milani Kafla started 35 years ago Dr Rama Rattan
Mahilpur:- 35 years ago, Bal Preet Milani Kafla was started in Punjab. Through which books and child culture were promoted and disseminated throughout Punjab. These ideas were expressed by Dr. Rama Rattan, the first PhD in Punjabi children's literature and the chief director of Bal Preet Milani Kafla, while addressing a discussion group at Karumbalan Bhawan, Mahilpur. He further said that at that time, child artists who performed children's variety shows with the famous artist Kamaljit Neelon were prepared by organizing a week-long workshop in Mahilpur.
This workshop was organized by SS Ashok Bhaura, Baljinder Mann and Krishanjit Rao Candowal. The children trained here, while winning the hearts of the audience with their performances all over Punjab, also recorded their melodious voices in Kamaljit Neelon's cassettes. These students of Showki Trust and Sangam Public School got their names written in golden letters on the historical pages of culture.
He further said that inspired by the Bal Preet Milni Kafla, Baljinder Mann started the children's magazine Nikkian Karumbalan in 1995, which is registered in the India Book of Records. Which has completed its 30-year journey with great glory and is entering its 31st year. Thus, the name of Mahilpur is taken with great pride in the Punjabi children's literature and cultural field after football.
On this occasion, Shiromani Children's Literature writer and Sahitya Academy Award-winning artist Kamaljit Nilon, who was present, created a lot of excitement with his songs and said that this caravan needs to be revived so that the coming generation remains connected with rich moral values. The new generation is moving towards decline, breaking away from the book culture. Therefore, it is the responsibility of all of us to groom and beautify our blooming Karumbals by connecting them with sustainable literature and healthy cultural activities.
Shiromani Children's Literature writer Baljinder Mann said on this occasion that the Sur Sangam Educational Trust has been continuously making efforts to promote literary and artistic interests in children to the best of its ability. Every year, on the occasion of Children's Day, children's literature creation competitions are organized, where they are given sets of books and are also honored with cash prizes and certificates.
Patron Bagga Singh Artist said that he will try to run this children's caravan again in some schools of Hoshiarpur district.
