Baba Saheb Dr Ambedkars Birth Anniversary Celebrated with Reverence at Banga Chowk Garhshankar
Haroli/Una, April 18 (Rajveer Chopra): The birth anniversary of 'Bharat Ratna' Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was celebrated with deep reverence and respect at Gurdwara Sri Guru Ravidas Ji, located at Banga Chowk in Garhshankar. On this auspicious occasion, Baba Kewal Singh Ji, the head of the institution at the holy shrine (Tap Sthan) of Sri Khuralgarh Sahib, participated as a special guest.
Addressing the congregation (Sangat), Baba Kewal Singh Ji stated that Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar illuminated the path toward mental, economic, and social liberation for society. He highlighted that this great visionary of the era—born on April 14, 1891—attained higher education despite facing arduous circumstances and made an unparalleled contribution toward the welfare of humanity. Even today, the Constitution drafted by him continues to bestow upon society the principles of equality, fraternity, and rights.
He further remarked that Baba Saheb acquired his education under extremely challenging conditions, earned numerous academic degrees, and never once bowed down before adversity. Drawing inspiration from his life, we must rise above superstition and ritualistic practices, embrace education, and strive to make our own lives successful.
Speaking on the occasion, Baba Naresh Singh Ji—the Head Granthi and Secretary of the Gurdwara—expressed his views, stating that both "Miri" (temporal power) and "Piri" (spiritual power) are essential for the advancement of society. According to him, the embodiment of 'Piri' is Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji, while the symbol of 'Miri' is Baba Saheb Dr. Ambedkar. The true welfare of society can only be realized by embracing both these forces in one's life.
The role of Stage Secretary for the event was ably performed by Chaudhary Jeet Singh Ji. Among the dignitaries present on this occasion were committee members—including President Joginder Singh, Paramjit MC, Chaudhary Jeet Singh, Malkit Singh, Meena Rani, Vikram Singh Babblu, and Kunwar Jagveer Singh Sahungra—along with other distinguished guests.
