Awareness Programme regarding Financial Literacy Savings and Cyber Security

Sangrur, 06 August:- Under the able leadership of District Programme Officer Sangrur Shri Pardeep Singh Gill, awareness programmes regarding financial literacy, savings, safe investment, cyber security and World Breastfeeding Week were organized for Anganwadi staff of Dirba and Sunam-1 Blocks.
In Dirba Block this training was conducted under the supervision of CDPO Shri Gurwinder Singh Aujla, while in Sunam-1 Block this programme was conducted under the leadership of CDPO Mrs. Rekha Rani. On this occasion supervisors and Anganwadi workers of both blocks participated in large numbers.
In the first session of the programme, training regarding financial literacy, savings, investment, retirement planning and cyber security was given under SEBI Investor Awareness Initiative.
SEBI Registered Trainer Shri Vinay Kumar (Agra) gave detailed information to the participants about financial planning, regular savings, safe investment and economic empowerment. He stressed the need for proper planning and awareness to become financially empowered.
On this occasion Shri Gaurav, Branch Manager, Patiala and Shri Sahib, Sales Officer, Patiala shared information about banking services, digital transactions, savings schemes and financial discipline.
During the training, detailed awareness was also given about necessary precautions to avoid increasing cyber frauds, fake phone calls, suspicious links, OTP and bank account related frauds.
Apart from this, a special awareness session was also organized at Sunam-1 Block in connection with World Breastfeeding Week (1st to 7th August). On this occasion CDPO Mrs. Rekha Rani while giving information about importance of mother's milk for newborn babies said that immediately after birth and for first six months only mother's milk is the best diet for all-round development, nutrition and immunity of the child. She motivated Anganwadi workers to make maximum families aware about benefits of mother's milk. During this, nutritious recipes were prepared and presented by Anganwadi workers.
In the end CDPO Shri Gurwinder Singh Aujla and Mrs. Rekha Rani thanked the resource persons. They appealed to Anganwadi workers that they should convey the information received regarding financial literacy, safe investment, protection from cyber frauds and World Breastfeeding Week to maximum people through their respective Anganwadi centres.
They said that such awareness programmes play an important role in increasing financial empowerment, cyber security and awareness about mother and child health in society. On this occasion supervisors and Anganwadi workers of both blocks were present.
