Awareness campaigns intensified across the district during Road Safety Month

Hoshiarpur:- A massive road safety campaign is being launched in Hoshiarpur district under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain and SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik under the Road Safety Month program. The aim of this campaign is to reduce road accidents, create awareness among citizens about traffic rules and promote safe road culture.
Disclosing this information, Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Amandeep Kaur said that special awareness programs are being organized in government and private schools across the district, in which students are being made aware about the importance of helmets and seat belts, dangers of speeding, avoiding driving under the influence and obeying traffic signals. Students are also being encouraged to become "safe road users".
The RTO said that reflectors are being installed on vehicles as part of the campaign to increase visibility at night and reduce the risk of accidents. Apart from this, a pollution control campaign is being run in the district, in which vehicles plying without a valid pollution certificate are checked and action is taken as per the rules.
Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain said that road safety is not only the responsibility of the administration, but also the collective responsibility of every citizen of the society. SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik appealed to the public to follow traffic rules honestly and motivate others to do the same.
The administration clarified that this campaign will continue during the Road Safety Month to ensure a safe, disciplined and responsible traffic system in the district.
