Awareness Camp Organized on Child Marriage Free India Campaign

Una, December 30:- In an awareness camp held at the Welfare Bhavan auditorium, District Program Officer Una, Narinder Kumar, informed that under the successful leadership of the Honorable Deputy Commissioner Una, Jatin Lal, a pledge for a Child Marriage Free India will be administered at all 1364 Anganwadi centers in Una district on January 1, 2026.
On this occasion, he said that taking a significant step towards eliminating child marriage and empowering young girls across the country, the Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Smt. Annapurna Devi, launched the Child Marriage Free India campaign on November 27, 2024. The objective of this campaign is to empower our daughters by providing them with the education, health, and security they deserve.
He stated that child marriage is a crime against humanity. The Child Marriage Prohibition Act, 2006 strictly prohibits the marriage of girls under 18 years of age and boys under 21 years of age, and provides for strict punishment for violators. He informed that a case regarding the rise of social awareness was pending before the Honorable Supreme Court, in which the Honorable Court instructed the government to involve the entire society and stakeholders. We have resolved to make India a child marriage-free country by 2030. Therefore, as a responsible citizen, you can register a complaint to stop child marriage on Google at stopchildmarriage.wcd.gov.in. From there, your complaint will automatically reach the concerned child marriage protection officer for action.
The program officer informed that the Child Marriage Free India campaign completed one year on November 27, 2025, and now a special 100-day campaign is being run to further this initiative, which will continue until March 8, 2026. So let's join this campaign, let's participate in this unique, unforgettable, and historic work of raising social awareness. This campaign is a mission to eliminate child marriage and empower every daughter of our country. We must ensure that every girl is educated, safe, and free to pursue her dreams.
