Awareness camp organized by Sehat Vibhag at Government High School Tutomajara
Hoshiarpur: Under the directions of Civil Surgeon Doctor Mandeep Kamal, an awareness camp under various health programs was organized at Government High School Tuto Majara.
Sharing information in this regard, Zila Samuh Sikhya and Suchna Officer Tarsem Lal created awareness about health programs and emphasized the importance of always consuming clean and safe drinking water and nutritious food. Health education was also given regarding getting free treatment for snake and dog bites from the nearest Zila Hospital.
Along with this, he created awareness under Hepatitis prevention, free testing and treatment, and under the AIDS Control Program, stating that awareness and knowledge are extremely necessary so that children can protect themselves from these diseases. He also provided health education regarding availing benefits of health services under the Chief Minister Cancer Rahat Kosh.
He further created awareness under National Vector Borne Disease Control Program, Teekakaran Program, and “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, motivating children towards sports. He said that if children are connected to sports and playgrounds from school time, then the real objective of the campaign against drugs can be achieved collectively.
He also educated children under National Tobacco Control Program about the harmful effects of tobacco products, especially passive smoking, stating that when a person smokes in public places, children, women, and elderly standing nearby suffer more harm than the smoker.
He also created awareness about other health programs. On this occasion, school staff Renu Bala, Vanita Jassal, Kulwinder Kaur, Kuldeep Singh, and Mandeep Kaur were present.
