Auction of Municipal Improvement Trust office raises questions about governments functioning Advocate Marwaha

Hoshiarpur: The auction of the Hoshiarpur Municipal Improvement Trust office building due to the government's negligence, indifference, and failure is regrettable and also raises questions about the government's functioning. This was stated by former Trust Chairman Advocate Rakesh Marwaha, expressing his sorrow over the auction. He said that it is the government's biggest failure that it did not pay attention to this matter in time.
If the government had wanted, it could have released funds to the Trust in time so that the officials could have resolved the matter. But surprisingly, the government did not take any such step. Advocate Marwaha said that he too has served as the Trust's chairman, and therefore, this incident has deeply affected him. He said that there are only two main agencies that contribute significantly to the development of the city: the Municipal Corporation and the Municipal Improvement Trust.
The attitude of governments towards the Municipal Improvement Trust has always been indifferent. The previous government also did not release any grants to the Trust, and now, due to the lack of grants from the current government, the Trust is facing this situation.
Whereas, governments should focus on strengthening the Municipal Improvement Trust financially by providing grants from time to time for development works and resolving such issues, so that the condition of these trusts facing financial difficulties can improve. Due to the government's indifference, the Trusts manage their income and expenses themselves, which has become quite difficult for them.
He appealed to the government to pay special attention to improving the condition of the Municipal Improvement Trusts.
