New Delhi- During the hearing of a case in the Supreme Court today, a person dressed as a lawyer tried to throw a shoe at the Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai. However, the court staff present in the courtroom caught the person in time. While being taken out of the courtroom, the person raised the slogan 'Sanatan ka apaman nahi sahega Hindustan'. The incident took place when the bench headed by the CJI was hearing the mentions of cases by the lawyers.
Despite the disruption in the court proceedings due to this incident, CJI Gavai remained calm. He directed that the court proceedings continue without any disruption. Reacting to the incident, Chief Justice Gavai said that such things do not matter much to him.
He instructed the lawyers to continue their arguments and said, "Do not get distracted by all this. Such things don't affect me." The Supreme Court's security unit has started an investigation into the incident. More details are awaited.
