Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, 28 January:- A high-level delegation of allottees related to approximately 7000 plots in Sectors 82, 83-A, and 66-B of Mohali's IT City met MLA Kulwant Singh today. During the meeting held at his office in Sector-79, the allottees expressed their pain regarding the increased enhancement fee by GMADA and the issued notices.
The delegation, led by Naseeb Singh, stated that the massive increase in enhancement fee by GMADA has become a heavy financial burden on the allottees. They said that for a 400 gaj (square yard) plot, the increased enhancement amounts to approximately 32 lakh rupees, while most allottees are already paying installments of loans taken from banks.
Listening attentively to the allottees' concerns, MLA Kulwant Singh immediately contacted GMADA officials and assured the delegation that he will soon bring this issue to the attention of Punjab Chief Minister Shri Bhagwant Singh Mann and the concerned department ministers.
He said that the demand for providing relief to IT City allottees on the lines of Sectors 76 to 80 is completely justified, and this will be seriously considered with the government. The MLA assured that a re-examination of the entire calculation of enhancement will be conducted.
On this occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh appealed to various Resident Welfare Associations not to hold any dharnas or protests in any manner, and stated that within the next 5 to 10 days, a meeting will be held with the concerned officials, and the allottees will be called personally to inform them about the resolution of the issue.
While talking to journalists, the MLA said that the representatives of the associations have adopted a positive and cooperative attitude, for which he is thankful to them.
The delegation led by Naseeb Singh included Govinder Singh, Jaspal Singh, Gurdit Singh, Harinder Singh Mann, Rajesh Kumar, Madam Jaswinder Soni, Baldev Singh Sachdeva, Maninder Singh, Parmjit Singh, Principal Tarlochan Singh, Harvir Singh, Gurjivan Singh, and Harpal Singh.
