Jodhpur- The Rajasthan High Court has granted bail to the so-called sadh Asaram Bapu for six months on medical grounds. This so-called sadh is serving a life sentence for raping a minor. Earlier, Asaram Bapu has also been granted interim bail thrice.
A bench of Acting Chief Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma and Justice Sangeeta Sharma passed the above orders while hearing a petition filed by the so-called sadh for suspension of his sentence and regular bail. Asaram has been serving a life sentence since April 2018 and after 12 years in jail, he was first granted interim bail on medical grounds on January 7, 2025.
 It was later extended in July and August. The so-called sadh returned to jail on August 30 after a bench of Justices Dinesh Mehta and Vineet Kumar Mathur rejected Asaram's plea for extension of interim bail on August 27.
