Arya College raises awareness among students under the DrugFree India Campaign
Ambala, December 18: An awareness campaign was conducted in the premises of Arya College, Ambala Cantonment, under the Drug-Free India Campaign to educate students about the harmful effects of drug abuse. The college principal, Prof. (Dr.) Anju Bala, urged the students to not only stay away from all types of intoxicating substances themselves but also to spread the message of awareness to everyone around them, emphasizing that drug addiction brings not only health problems but also immense sorrow to the entire family. She stressed that only our collective efforts can eradicate this poison spreading in society, as its destructive effects are horrific.
Prof. Ranju Trehan said that there are many people in society who mislead our youth, tempting them with greed and false promises of friendship, and ultimately leading them to drug addiction. We must be wary of such people. Dr. Rekha said that drug addiction takes away a person's self-control and leads them towards destruction. Families should maintain open communication with their children so that any negative influences can be identified and addressed in time.
The principal informed that the campaign cell organizes street plays, slogan writing, speeches, poster making, painting, essay writing, rallies, and oath-taking ceremonies as part of the campaign. Prof. Silvy, Dr. Pankaj, Prof. Vishal, Deepika, Nishu, and other staff members participated in the program.
