Arya College celebrates Van Mahotsav

Ambala, 31 July:- As per the directions of DGHE Haryana, the NCC and NSS units of Arya College Ambala Cantt planted 200 fruit-bearing trees in the college campus under the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign. On this occasion, former President of Rotary Club and Dr. Juginder Singh of Civil Hospital, honoured with the title of Green Man, was the chief guest.
NSS volunteers and NCC cadets and staff members planted many types of trees like Jamun, Guava, Amla, Hibiscus etc. under the leadership of Dr. Juginder Singh. College Principal Dr. Anju Bala welcomed the chief guest and while encouraging the students said that the objective of this campaign is to inspire individuals to make a significant contribution in environmental protection. 
NSS Programme Officer Dr. Amandeep Makkar said that this initiative reflects the college's commitment to sustainable development, biodiversity and creation of a clean, green and healthy environment for future generations.
 N.C.C. CTO Dr. Pankaj said that under this initiative, every citizen should plant at least one tree in honour of his mother and nurture it. At the end of the programme, all students and staff took a pledge to keep the environment clean by planting trees.
