Artists from Purvi Kala Manch raised awareness about building earthquakeresistant buildings

Una, October 16 - As part of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Samarth Program 2025, organized by the District Disaster Management and Authority, Una, people were raised on Thursday in Main Bazaar Haroli and Tahliwal Chowk in Haroli subdivision about the importance of building earthquake-safe buildings. Artists from Purvi Kala Manch Jalgran Tabba, a folk media group affiliated with the Information and Public Relations Department, informed the public about various methods and basic knowledge of safe building construction.
The artists emphasized that buildings, whether residential or non-residential, should be constructed in an earthquake-resistant manner to prevent loss of life and property during any disaster. Consult an engineer before making any structural changes to buildings to minimize earthquake damage.
The artists also raised awareness about the importance of quality cement mortar, horizontal earthquake-resistant bands, brick wall reinforcement, vertical reinforcement of opening jambs, and foundations for earthquake-resistant buildings.
In addition, the artists presented a group song, "Plant Trees - Save the Environment," highlighting the importance of environmental balance for disaster prevention. The group also conveyed the message of tree plantation and soil erosion prevention.

In this series, as part of the Samarth 2025 program, artists from Purvi Kalamanch Jalgran Tabba will raise awareness about earthquake-resistant buildings in Isapur and Panjawar/Pandoga on October 17th, Una and Jhalera on October 18th, Santoshgarh and Mehtpur on October 19th, and Lathiani and Thanakalan on October 20th. Apart from this, people will be made aware about earthquake safe building construction as well as disaster risks and measures through street plays by the artists of RK Kalamanch Chintpurni in Bangana and Khurwai on 21st October, Chintpurni and Bhanjal on 22nd October, Amb and Naihariyan on 23rd October, Gagret and Shivbari on 24th October and Kuneran and Oil on 25th October.
