Applications invited for statelevel womens awards

Karnal, October 14: Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh announced that the Women and Child Development Department has announced state-level awards for women who have achieved outstanding work. These awards include the Indira Gandhi Mahila Shakti Award, Kalpana Chawla Shaurya Award, Sister Shanno Devi Panchayati Raj Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, Social Worker Award, and Women Entrepreneur Award. He stated that women who have achieved commendable achievements in various fields can apply offline at the district-level Women and Child Development Department office until October 30, 2025.
He stated that women eligible for the awards can submit their applications by personally appearing at the Women and Child Development Department office by October 30, 2025. Applicants must submit all required documents and their latest police verification report along with their application form. Awards will be given in these categories:
1. Under the Indira Gandhi Mahila Shakti Award, women who have performed commendable work in public service even during difficult circumstances and have been role models for other women and children will be awarded a sum of one lakh fifty thousand rupees.
2. Under the Kalpana Chawla Shaurya Award, women who have performed an act of bravery at the risk of their lives will be awarded a sum of one lakh rupees.
3. Under the Behan Shanno Devi Panchayati Raj Award, women Panchayat leaders, women President/Member of Block Committee, women President/Member of Zila Parishad, women President/Member of Municipal Corporation who have done commendable work in various fields such as women literacy, health and nutrition, women empowerment, female foeticide, child marriage and improvement in sex ratio etc., such women are given a sum of Rs. 1 lakh as a reward.
4. Under the Life Time Achievement Award, women who are 60 years of age or above and who have done commendable work in the field of creative work, commendable work, administrative skills and who have dedicated their entire life to the public service/welfare of the society and the nation, will be given a sum of Rs. 51 thousand as a reward.
5. Under the Women Outstanding Achievers Award, women who have performed or achieved commendable work in the health sector or have achieved notable and praiseworthy achievements in the field of sports will be awarded a sum of 21,000 rupees.
6. Women who have performed commendable work as social workers or played a significant role in programs related to women's education, female foeticide, prevention of child marriage, vaccination, or nutrition will receive an incentive of 21,000 rupees.
7. In the government employee category, women who have performed commendable work in the field of ethical work and female athletes who have achieved outstanding achievements at the national and international level in the field of sports will receive a sum of 21,000 rupees. In the social worker category, women who have played a significant role in programs related to women's education, female foeticide, child marriage, vaccination, or nutrition, and have performed commendable work in the last five years, will receive a reward of 21,000 rupees.
8. In the Women Entrepreneur category, women who have performed commendable work in the business and industry sectors will be awarded ?21,000.
In addition, those selected by the Government of India from the nominations received last year for the Stree Shakti Puraskar and Anganwadi Worker category will receive ?21,000.
