Patiala:- Gyan Jyoti Education Society (RDS), Patiala, has been running an awareness campaign against drug addiction for a long time. Under this campaign, an anti-drug program was organized today under the chairmanship of Upkar Singh at Government Middle School, Chhonhath Samana. The chief guest was Dr. Harnek Singh Dhot, Assistant Director, Language Department. Its special guest was Gurinder Singh Sandhu. The program was started by head teacher Jugrit Kor by addressing the society members.
On this occasion, Upkar Singh said that we have been running awareness campaign against drug abuse in various schools, villages and neighborhoods for a long time. Under this campaign, students of Government Middle School, Chhonhath, Samana have to be made aware about the ill effects of drugs. At this time, those who are already trapped in the quagmire of addiction. This person can be de-addiction-free by getting admitted to a de-addiction center. Its treatment is provided free of cost by the government.
The government needs the Anganwadi workers in the village to come forward as the watchmen of the village. Youth clubs should be formed. So the new generation who is interested in the game. Gurinder Singh Sandhu told that the main objective of our society is to make the general public aware about the increasing menace of drug addiction, to spread awareness about the physical, mental, social and economic harms caused by drug addiction and to create an anti-drug environment in the villages and neighbourhoods.
