AntiDrug March in Gurunanakpura Trust Writes to DGP Demanding Security
Fatehabad, January 9: A march against drug abuse will be organized by the Mahashakti Charitable Trust on January 10 in the Gurunanakpura locality of the city, with the aim of raising awareness among the public. Gurunanakpura is considered a hub for drug traffickers, and the trust's founder, Bhavani Singh, and his family have received threats from women involved in the drug trade there. Therefore, to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the march, the trust has written to the Director General of Police, Haryana, appealing for necessary instructions to be given to the district administration regarding security.
In the letter to the DGP, Bhavani Singh, the founder of Mahashakti Charitable Trust, stated that his organization has been continuously working against drug abuse in Fatehabad for the past year under the guidance of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. During this time, the trust has helped hundreds of young people overcome drug addiction and receive treatment, leading to positive changes in their lives and enabling them to rejoin mainstream society.
Bhavani Singh said that to increase public awareness against drug abuse, the trust is also conducting an awareness march called 'A Journey Against Drugs,' the objective of which is to educate the general public, especially young people, about the harmful effects of drugs. As part of this initiative, the trust will be organizing this awareness march in the Gurunanakpura locality of Fatehabad on January 10.
The Gurunanakpura locality is considered a sensitive and active area for drug trafficking. Therefore, there is a possibility that some drug traffickers and anti-social elements active there may try to disrupt or sabotage this awareness march. Bhavani Singh requested the DGP of Haryana to issue necessary instructions to the district administration and police department, considering the seriousness and social importance of the march.
This will ensure that the awareness march receives adequate security and administrative support, allowing the program to be conducted peacefully and smoothly. Bhavani Singh said that he will continue this campaign against drug abuse fearlessly to make society drug-free.
