Annual Games organized at District Drug Rehabilitation Center
Hoshiarpur:- Annual games were organized at the local drug rehabilitation center under the Punjab government's 'War Against Drugs' campaign and Mission Smile. Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr. Swati Shimar, who arrived as the chief guest on the occasion of the annual games, greeted everyone on Baisakhi and said that it is the need of the hour to make the youth aware for the creation of a drug-free society.
She said that sports keep us mentally and physically healthy, for which it is very important to adopt sports in our lives. During this program organized under the chairmanship of Dr. Jasleen Kaur, indoor and heritage games were organized for the inmates and staff of the center. These games included volleyball, badminton, tug-of-war, spoon lemon race and chess, etc., the winners of which were honored with medals and trophies.
On this occasion, staff member Amandeep Tiwari staff won the first place in the spoon race. On this occasion, Dr. Jasleen Kaur congratulated all the winners and said that sports are inspiring the youth and sports play an important role for a drug-free society. She called upon all the inmates to adopt sports and make their lives healthy. This event was sponsored by Yogesh Chander, MD of BD Optics.
